IN THIS ISSUE:

FROM OUR EDITOR'S DESK

Hello!

Even though we have moved to Canada, both Amy and I still celebrate the American Thanksgiving holiday, because for us it truly kicks off the holiday season. We will always remember and miss the day after Thanksgiving and fighting for parking at the local malls back in Houston. This year we have family coming into town for the holiday, so between them, our friends, and a great turkey dinner it should be an excellent time. We will be doing the usual Southern Thanksgiving - deep fried turkey, cornbread stuffing, and all the works! I can almost smell the the turkey sizzling away in the fryer!

Speaking of deep fried turkey, we thought there might be a few others out there who have always wanted to try it, but haven't been brave enough to risk burning down their home - a real possibility if things go wrong. Our news from the world of food gives you some great tips on how not to start the worlds largest campfire!

If you aren't quite ready to deep fry your turkey, that's okay because we've included a recipe for an easy and succulent oven roasted turkey!  One of the questions I am asked most often is, "how long should it cook?", so we've included a roasting time chart with the recipe to answer that question.

NEWS FROM THE WORLD OF FOOD

How To Deep Fry A Turkey
Anthony Tripodi

Do you have an extra five gallons of peanut oil sitting around the house? Why not use it to deep fry a turkey?

Deep fried turkey is moist and delicious and not at all oily. The skin sears instantly and seals in the natural turkey juices for the most juicy turkey you'll ever have. It also cooks quickly at about 3 ½ minutes a pound. That’s a 12 pound turkey in under 40 minutes. You'll even have time to cook two turkeys if you want. No more waking up at dawn to put the turkey in the oven. Deep frying a turkey will also free up oven space for side dishes. If your oven space is limited, think about how much room you'll have without a turkey in there.

What do you need to deep fry a turkey...

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
This month we would like to introduce Adam and his parents, Dave and Kathy, from Ontario, Canada. Adam, 14,  is one of our most loyal customers, and he has been using our Aussie Steak Dry Rub since we first made it available to the public. Adam enjoys using it on everything he eats especially on eggs, roasted chicken, ground beef and steaks. In all honesty, no matter what is served, Adam always asks, "Where's my spices!"

Adam, Dave and Kathy are all avid campers and skiers, spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors.  Recently, they added boating to their list of outdoor joys when they bought their first boat this summer.

Thank you Adam from all of us at Caroline's Rub, and there is a big bag of Aussie Rub on its way to you now!

Visit us today and tell us your story. Everyone featured in our newsletter gets a bag of their favorite dry rub, smoked salt, or Texas chili seasoning free!
